Painted or Crocheted, I love Snowmen!

It sure has been cold that last few day here in Maine.  And now the weathermen are telling us that we may get plowable snow this weekend.  I always look forward to the first snow each year.   Do you???

Why I rise at 4:30 am

This is what I do in the early morning hours, most days, with a lovely cup of coffee.   By 8am, I'm at my day job as Administrative Assistant.  Putting creativity first insures that I have the energy and focus I need to create.  I like my day job much better as well by starting my day with a paint brush in my hand.  It's meditative.   It puts a positive flow to my day.
It is now well after 8pm and time for this Maine girl to call it a day, but before I do, I really wanted to devote a little time to my neglected blog and share a peaceful, beautiful part of my day.  Finding the right balance for everything that I love to do is challenging, it's definately a work in progress.
Lupines are one of my favorite flowers to paint.

Birdhouses and cardinals are painted in a whimsical folk art style on these orns, but I do like to paint them in a realistic style as well.

More lupines, this is my signature lupine design.  I paint lupines on everything.

Lobsters are my newest design.  These crustations are going in a gift shop at the Camden Rockport Country Inn, Rockport, Maine.  (I love their pool)

Blueberries, also at the gift shop at the Country Inn.  (I love their hot tub, too)and last but not least, six little snowmen playing in the snow!

Poppies

Three Poppies

Four Poppies (two more on the other side)

Field of Poppies

I am proud to unveil my newest designs.  Poppies!  This set of three glass ornaments are a custom order request through my Etsy Shop (shown here to the right)  They were so satisfying to design and paint.  They deserve better photography, before I official put them up on my Etsy Shop as custom order Reserved for the awesome Audrey Hotchkiss, owner of

We both are members of the Etsy Maine Team!

I've been needing to give my blog some proper attention for some time now, (I've been quite the slacker in this area of my Art Business).
But it's never too late for New Beginnings.  So, baby steps I say.

I am so inspired by being a part of the Etsy Maine Team, that I am actually getting things done creatively on a regular basis these days.  My craftroom has never been more organized and pleasant to spend time in.
And I'm writing again.  I've had writer's block pretty bad for quite some now and it has bothered me to be so stuck.  So I decided as baby steps I would put alot of effort into my Etsy Shop Item Descriptions.  I've begun to share a little of myself and my process and the words are finally beginning to flow again, like the paint from my brushes to the many surfaces that surround me in my beloved craftroom.
Here's to New Beginnings...

New Beginnings

I haven't been around much lately, I've gone through many changes in the last two years.  I've had serious writer's block and creativity block, but I think I've got them back... so check out my Etsy Shop, I've added a few new offerings.
